Microneedling: Aging signs will show on our skin eventually. But we can use some methods to decrease skin wrinkles and rejuvenate our skin. One of these methods is microneedling.

What is it?

Microneedling is a new method by creating thousands of tiny needles are inserted into the surface of the skin via a rolling device.

How it works?

This method is done by entering a number of very thin and sterile needles to the skin by a doctor.

This creates millions of channels in the skin layer, which stimulates cellular growth and produces new collagen and elastin.

As a result, the surface layer of the skin becomes thicker and more rigidity.

Application

It is used to treat the following skin problems:

  • Acne scarring,
  • Wrinkles,
  • Loosing skin,
  • Skin texture problem,
  • Pores,
  • Brown spots,
  • Stretch marks,
  • And pigment problems

Who should not use it?

  • Who has been using other treatments such as Laser or Microdermabrasion.
  • Who has infection in any part of the body
  • Who has active acne
  • During pregnancy and lactation periods.

How often should you use it?

Using derma roll is depends on the length of the needles that are used. Here is the table of maximum times you can use a derma roller:

Needle length (millimeters) How often
0.25 mm Every other day
0.5 mm One to 3 times a week (starting with less)
1.0 mm Every 10 to 14 days
1.5 mm Every 3 to 4 weeks
2.0 mm Every 6 weeks (avoid this length for home use)

How can we increase the positive effects after microneedling?
